He was hiding under the bulkhead and pushed off at the 125! Pretty funny. Congratulations! You seem like you really have stepped up your training in the last year or so.
Thanks, Jack.
I have tried to be pretty consistent over the past few years, and my times have suffered only a bit of decay if you correct for the outlawing of the body kayak speed suits that women still get to wear.
In some ways, I feel I have been a beneficiary of the FINA suit change rule. I am reasonably hirsute everywhere but my head, therefore shaving does provide a bit of benefit that less hairy fellows don't get. I don't know if some swimmers quit after the body suits were outlawed, but for whatever reason it does seem that my placements in the TT have gone up even if my times aren't quite as fast. Last year, when I was still in the 55-59 age group for SCY, may have been the only time I've made the TT in my last year of an age group.
Not sure who is aging up this year. We might get one more year before Jack Groselle leads a vanguard of superstars into our already McConica-Colella-Trevisan-Shead-Shaw-Stark-dense cohort of superstar competitors! (Sorry if I have left out people in events I don't swim and therefore don't consider my competitors!)
