I have a meeting in Mesa at 10:30. My flight out is not until 5:30. Using the "Places to swim" search on USMS, looks like there are a few mid day workouts in the area. Any suggestions?
Patrick, thanks for the great info. My wife and I are coming to Scottsdale the first week in March for a little winters' break and I was hoping to get in several workout. I'm also thinking of entering the Sun Devils meet on the 3d which looks like lots of fun.Rich, you definitely should enter the meet if you're going to be in town. It's designed for guys like you. Just make sure to pack your fins for the special 50.
When you're here, I'd highly encourage you to drop into each of the major Masters programs -- Mesa, Phoenix and Sun Devil -- as there are some great coaches and people across all of them. If you're just looking to do your own thing, though, and will be in Scottsdale, Cactus is the best place by far. You're almost guaranteed to have your own lane and very often multiple lanes to choose from ... while paying, I think, only a $3 or $4 drop-in fee.
