Anyone ever swim the Trans Tahoe? I'm curious as to whether the water temperature was an issue for you.

Friends of mine did it in 2011 and said it was no big deal. Low 60's that year. I'm doing it this year and I know it will be an absolutely horrible experience for me, but I whine if a pool is under 80.
Bottom line, it depends on the individual.
My teammates will be preparing with multiple lake swims with cooler water to get acclimated. I won't join them. My perspective is why be miserable several times instead of just once, at the race?
