I did not know that USMS does not belong to USADA. Rumor mill speculates that a percentage (small? large?) of masters records (FINA, USMS) were set by athletes on performance enhancing drugs (PEDs).
Thank you, Ande, for telling Rain Man exactly what I was thinking. Masters swimming has been a life-changing experience for me that has made these past three years so much happier for me. "...health, enjoyment, and friendship." EXACTLY! :applaud::bliss:
I have been back to masters swimming for almost three years. I am eternally grateful to the one who gave me the push I needed to get back in the water. That said....I love it!!! I am so glad I am there. I do compete and do not find the meets to be a charade. Just a wonderful place to be with others who love the water as much as I do. As I have gotten better I have become more competitive, and have set some goals for myself. I have made so many good friends, made such an improvement to both my physical and mental well- being. I wouldn't change a thing. It is a :banana:big part of my life now.
