Kicking is essential to swimming.
If you want to swim fast, you need to kick fast.
With a board, without a board,
With fins, without fins.
While swimming or just kicking.

What did you do in practice today?
8x25m on :30 interval
1,3,5,7 on back 8 hard SDK, then streamline surfaced flutter on back
2,4,6,8 on front 8 hard SDK then streamline surfaced flutter on front
I've found that for me it's equally important to work hard SDK on front AND back. I tend to put more emphasis on whatever is the downward beat of the kick.

My workout was only 800m total today as a cooldown after the weight room.
