I wear swedes and only change the strap on them until the lenses get too scratched up. I've worn my current pair for about three years now, just replacing the strap every 4-5 months or so. I've still got my first pair of swedes from about 20 years ago--wore them for about 8 years before the lenses got too scratched up to see clearly enough through them. Every now and then I'll switch from the blue swedes to the orange ones when I'm swimming indoors, and then I wear the mirrored metallic swedes outdoors. I've had all three for for about three years and can see using them for another 3+ for sure with strap replacements.
Not bad for an initial ~$3 investment for the goggles and about $10 a year for replacement straps!
