I have to agree with you. Maybe it was the wayh that NBC cut the tape and they didn't catch the immediate post-race celebration. Romano's swim was Lezak-worthy in her comeback; for such a fast race (2 seconds under the exsiting american record) and after a drought of sorts for the American women winning that relay, you would've expected a huge celebration.
I noticed the same thing. Maybe they were stunned? Or, as you said, maybe they edited it strangely.
mens sprinters dont seem to be doing that well as a whole. or maybe i should say feigen isnt. both of his swims were poor. adrian's lead off while 1st wasnt that great either. volmer's 100 fly was ick. but jaeger's 400 was pretty darn good against the demoralizing yang (he pulled 1 sec on the field on the 2nd 50! and then just walked away!) usa mens 100 *** and nobody goes under 00? ouch! jaeger looking super strong in the 800.
imho, so of those that were in london last year (and won) dont seem to have the fire here in barcelona. just my take.
Both Adrian and Vollmer were sick. He had to leave the medal stand to throw up. :eeew:

You can find the races on youtube. Just have to type the name of the race in the search box then filter to just today's videos. It might not be in English but at least you can see the race unfold. It was fabulous to watch! Those 2 women took off on the rest of the field right at the start and raced the whole way till Katie went ahead going into the last 100 turn.

Interesting - it looks like there may have been lane bias (a current???) in the pool at Barcelona: www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/.../35601.asp
I swim once a week in a ropy 50m pool that once was the bees knees but is now some way below international standard ... in some lanes at one end it is hard to even hang onto the wall if you are near the jets, and we decided to see what the effect was
We tried 50m backstroke with fins and found there was a five / seven stroke difference per length ..... can anyone beat that?
