Good: Cordes is otherworldly in his technique and is becoming a great LCM swimmer. I think he's going to drop a couple of extremely fast times, particularly in the 200. Really happy to see Eugene Godsoe have the meet of his life at the exact right moment, same for Shannon Vreeland. Maya DiRado was a surprise for me, I knew she was good, but she was almost Franklin-esque out there. Lots of great performances from the young ones. Knowns like Conger and Murphy had solid meets (near misses). There's also a solid crop of up-and-coming teens who made a bunch of A finals: Jacob Pebley, Quinn Carrozza, Gunnar Bentz, Gillian Ryan, Kathleen Baker, Caleb Dressel, Kendyl Stewart, Matt Josa etc... Really excited to see all the first timers get some top-level international experience: Fink, Manuel, Johnson, DiRado (she may have made some other natioal team rosters), Godsoe, Luchsinger, Steel... Maybe next time: It was a relatively slow meet with lots of post-Olympic blues for some big names. Schmitt not making the team is a blow. Lots of other Olympic stars (Grevers, Vollmer etc) looked a bit rusty. Not surprising. Conger, Murphy, Mann all miss making the (pool) team. The good news is that it's only a matter of time for these three. Women's sprinting looks a bit iffy, especially in the 50. Men's and women's relays (especially the 4x200s) are likely not going to be as dominating as has been the case in the past. For the first time in a while, it's possible that the US might miss a major medley gold. Ricky Berens didn't break through as some had expected, good meet but no individual swims.
