Hi Forum dwellers,
I am an American of Chinese origin and have been a competitive masters swimmer for a number of years. Now that my career with the Army Research Labs is almost over, I would like to go to China as a tourist and to compete in a masters meet (Beijing - Birds Nest would be uber-cool).
I wrote to our US FINA rep about masters swimming and competition in China but never heard from her.
So I am seeking any information about masters swimming in China. Hopefully some reader will be able to post some useful web links.
Yes, I have done the search engine thing before posting here - but have yet to uncover any helpful websites that focus on Chinese masters swimming. It may be that masters swimming in China is very limited - or - I am looking in the wrong places. One would think that the Chinese would have a vibrant masters program but they are poorly represented at FINA Worlds (in contrast to the Japanese).
BTW, I can't read Chinese (it wasn't the thing to learn growing up during the cold war), so please don't point me to Chinese language masters swimming websites.
Thank you,
Philipp

Download Google Chrome. It automatically recognizes non-English, and will translate a site with the click of a button.
China's swimming federation site is here: http://swimming.sport.org.cn/
It has next to nothing on a Masters schedule, which translates to Adult Swim when you translate it in Chrome.
But, you might be able to contact them through that site to ask your question. Additionally, FINA has the following information (even though they have the wrong website) www.fina.org/.../index.php
