Katie Ledecky is serving notice that she wants to be on the 400 free relay. I have every confidence she will be. I have no idea what her taper strategy will be for Trials, but she could easily afford to taper primarily for the 100/200 and still easily stroll onto the team for the 400 & 800. I don't know if there's any other swimmer except maybe Phelps for the 200 fly & IM and Lochte for the 200 IM that can afford to do less than a full taper and still be pretty assured of being on the team. Katie's just so far ahead of the world in the 400 & 800 that she doesn't need to have exceptional swims for her at Trials to still be on the team.
