I really would like to get some tips on how to make better SDK's. On the back I think I have an average effective SDK, but in freestyle underwater I feel I have no forward propulsion from them, so I rapidly come to surface and swim again.

Why Not Improve your SDK
Help my SDK is Horrible
1) Test your SDK speed (have someone time you)
a. FROM A FLIP TURN: 15 & 25
b. From a forward dive: 15 & 25
c. From a backstroke start: 15 & 25 (if you do backstroke)
2) Train to improve your SDK
Do AFAP SDK's with plenty of rest
Perfect your technique
Improve your foot ankle flexibility
Improve your legstrength
3) RETEST Retest ReTest
4) As you improve, determine your SDK speed vs swimming speed and decide on kick count strategies for your key races
