Any thoughts? From my perspective, former swimmer, back for about a month, I'd REALLY like to swim a few meets. How did you choose? When were you ready? How did you choose events? How did it go? Also, maybe some commentary on those who have no competitive swimming background. How did you prepare?

Pick one have fun getter done How did you choose? look for one local or regional so you don't have to drive far Masters has 3 seasons SCY ends 05/31 LCM ends 08/31 SCM ends 12/31 so you are at the beginning of the USMS SCM season, then SCY is next, I suggest doing 2 meets each season When were you ready? everybody's ready just depends what your goals and expectations are. just go for the experience and to establish a baseline meets are the best way to train you need to be able to legally swim each event backstroke ~ stay on your back (except for turns) *** & fly arms and legs move together & 2 hand touches How did you choose events? look at the meets order of events, pick ones you've trained to race, try not to do back to back events, pick an event then put 1, 2, or 3 events before your next one, 1 event per day is light 2 is pretty easy 3 is harder 4 is difficult & 5 or more is very tiring and just plain crazy avoid unpleasant events or not How did it go? everyone has a different story find out what yours is
