Hello fellow swimmers! My name is Mitchell Sterner, My friends call me mitch, and my team calls me Moonshine. I have swam since I was extremely young, and I have grew up in or around a pool. My main stroke is freestyle, I swim a 23.13 on the short course for the 50 freestyle, I swim a 57 or 58 for 100 freestyle. I also swim fly, but I don't like it as much as freestyle. My best time for a 100 fly is a 1:04?(It's been almost 8 months since I raced fly.) I happened across this forum looking for advice, because it appears I have been doing everything wrong. I am like 8th in the state of New Jersey for 50 freestyle, but the thing is, I video taped myself, and I used 90% of my energy on my arms, I have a long dive, considering I'm 6"3, and I come up almost a second before my competition. And usually, I pull ahead till the turn, and that's where I lose races. I have spent my entire swimming career, focusing on my arms, instead of my legs. And I am beating myself up about it now, because I KNOW, I could of broke records this year if my training had me on the right track. I am fairly certain that if I had a stronger, more fluid kick, I would of shaved seconds off my time. I would like feedback, feel free to ask me anything, I love to learn.
