Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am 45 and haven't been wet on purpose, except for the shower, in about 10 years (car accident). I have gotten back in the water for about 2 weeks now and have decided to swim in a competitive race in 31 days (Sept 22). My 25 times for 12x25 fly on forever rest (3 minutes) are 12 to 13.5 seconds, but I am worried about entering a 100/200 fly and 100/200 I.M. I just want to see where I am at the competition and maybe compete in earnest for the Spring meet and/or PanAm in June, but short term...what should I do?

Thanks a million!! Training the last few days has opened my eyes to just how out of shape I am. I will take the advice and stick to the shorter events. Probably enter all strokes 50's, the 100 I.M. and the 100 free. (Fly was my thing back in the day, but I did a 100 this morning and it pretty much ended the workout). Thanks so much for the input.
