Getting Back To It-Help?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am 45 and haven't been wet on purpose, except for the shower, in about 10 years (car accident). I have gotten back in the water for about 2 weeks now and have decided to swim in a competitive race in 31 days (Sept 22). My 25 times for 12x25 fly on forever rest (3 minutes) are 12 to 13.5 seconds, but I am worried about entering a 100/200 fly and 100/200 I.M. I just want to see where I am at the competition and maybe compete in earnest for the Spring meet and/or PanAm in June, but short term...what should I do? :cane:

  • I agree with the above. Unless you put in some serious training over the next 3.5 weeks, do yourself a favor and skip the 100/200. If you do choose to do the 100, take the first 75 out VERY easy, and go for it on the last 25. Low 12's are pretty good times for a 25 butterfly from a push...good on ya mate :applaud:
