Folks,
Can some of you kind souls help me understand how I can improve my freestyle technique please. Horrible kicking style and lousy streamline. Root cause and any drill suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are two segments. Upto 2 min breathing on my left most-comfortable side. After 2 min or so both side breathing which I have been forcing to do - not comfortable at all. There are couple of views in each segment - about a 45-60 sec or so.

Thank you all so much for being generous with your advice and time.
It has been now about 6 weeks or so (say 3-4 sessions a week), and I have been doing some of the drills. I notice that my arm cross over is not as egregious as before, but my scissor kick still persists; this is really dispiriting. Anyways, here is the video. (There are two views; at about 1:45 you will see a down-the-lane view).

1. I have been doing the (1) one arm stroke drill and (2) leg kicks on the side. And I am also consciously keeping my lead arm out in front till I finish breathing (like Mike suggested), though I may not be so successful all the time. (Catch-up drill or something else?)
2. Paul's suggestion of pulling in the belly button: after a few tries I found thinking of the belly button made me loose concentration on all other things, so I gave up for now. I have been conscious about touching the big-toe but after a lap or two it is out of my mind. May be I should keep this going.
3. Would tying the legs together with a string (say about shoulder-width or 12 inches apart) by the big-toe or at the ankles help with the scissor-kick action? I bend the knees on the side I am "resting"; so if my left shoulder is out of water then I bend he right knee, and vice versa.
Any insights, drills, or comments are welcome. Thanks again for being generous with you time and advice.
