please share info, links, results & comments about 2012 USMS SCM Meets
Oct 12 - 14, 2012 - Short Course Meters
Rowdy Gaines Masters Classic IV
Orlando, FL 32819
The only SCM meet I know about in Georgia will be the St. Nicholas SCM Invitational, at Georgia Tech, on December 15. Info. is not available yet, but check back here: www.georgiamasters.org/.../meet_schedule.cfmHey, that one isn't listed on our Dixie Zone Meet Calendar. Thanks.
Nevertheless, my main focus will be this one:
Nov. 30-Dec. 2 / SCM: South Carolina SCM Championships. Columbia SC
According to the ILMSA.com website there are two SCM meets with pending sanctions:
Libertyville Sink or Swim Classic (Oct 28) - SCM
Leaning Tower Pentathlon and Relays (Dec 2) - SCM
I think I will aim for the Libertyville meet. I haven't been in a meet in a couple years, and never swam SCM. I suppose I should swim as many as possible since they would all be personal bests. :D Not sure what the schedule will look like for the Leaning Tower meet.

This will be my next meet. There are two others in Florida including the Rowdy Gaines Classic.

Updated a week ago, and mentioned in a NEM email recently. :bouncing:
Thanks!!! But what a wildly unexpected place to look ... I routinely have trouble finding the dates for this meet.

I will almost certainly go to this one. The pool in Columbia is surprisingly fast, and the meet is very professionally run. Diann Uustal set two world records at this meet the last two years (both in Lane 1!), and the officials had the paperwork filled out almost before she got out of the pool. It's a really good meet.
We'll possibly be having a SCM meet in Sandpoint, Idaho this fall/winter. I missed the conference call this last week, but they may have mentioned something about it. The pool is SCM, but it's nothing to write home about. Mainly the gutter system, or lack of, is the downfall of the pool. I remember swimming the 100 and 200 Fly there about 3 years ago, and it was "fun".
But it is another opportunity.
Good to know. Sandpoint is not much further than Coeur d'Alene. Depending on the timing, I might be able to get my family to trek out there.

Only a little over an hour more from CDA. But the meet is usually held in mid-November (at least in the past). I've got nearly a 4 1/2 hour drive, and doing that over and back the same day just isn't fun for me.
Sprinter in denial then (but your thinking "not lazy"):D
Yes, his slow twitch speed does exceed my fast twitch capabilities for even a 50 to his 400. And I don't feel old, just slow
