Hey there fellow swimmers, I'm looking for advice on two things:
1) A good routine for getting myself back into swimming shape (both in pool workout and dry land workouts)
2) Help getting my 500 y Freestyle down below my old time which sadly was abysmal... 8'30" was my last recorded in competition (although that was a big improvement over my first competition where i came in at over 10 min... i was a slow whale. and this improvement was over the course of 2 weeks and qualified me for county in the 500 :) )
I haven't swam competively in over 7 years now, and haven't really been able to get to the pool consistently in those 7 years. I don't want to over exert myself now, but I need to get back into shape for health reasons, however I screwed up my shoulder so I can't fly anymore, whenever I try, I end up pulling to the right because my right shoulder is just a little bit faster than my left so i lost my synchronicity.
I also want to start swimming again competitively once i get myself back into shape, maybe try out for the college team.
I apologize if this is in the wrong forum on here, as this is my first post lol.

Two things:
1. Find a team and a coach that you can talk to. Don't care if it's high school, club, YMCA, or Masters.
2. Show up consistantly, and do the workouts.
Until you make these two things happen, you will not find your way to a college team anytime soon. There is no magic pill.
