Went to the Los Angeles Swim Stadium today. The Swim Stadium was constructed for the 1932 Olympic swimming, diving, and water polo events.
I swam 5,000 meters. 1,000 meters for each of the Olympic rings.
It was a very nice day for swimming in an outdoor pool. The sun was out, the water was perfect. Originally I was only going to swim a 4,200, since I felt good I decided on the 5,000.
My second contribution to the spirit of the Olympics this year. It was nice that I could do this in a pool that was actually used for the Olympics, is still in use, and is available for public use.

It makes me feel weird that I've never seen that pool. I lived and competed for five years less that a mile from there.

That's cool!
Hey Rob,
I'll add that to my list of workouts. My longest workout is 5,150 meters. I usually save that for a Saturday or Sunday. I'll do your Olympic "FUN" workout and get back to you. It may be a couple of weeks till I do it. I have a heavy agenda until then.
Regards,
In addition to just "doing it", you should time each race, and give say 1:00 rest between each or so, just to see how long it would take. I know you couldn't give 100% this way, but you can still do a strong workout pace for 5K+
Another “FUN” Olympic workout is to swim the Olympic program. The following Men’s Finals only workout is 5,350M. If you want to swim the entire pool program of heats, quals, semis and finals then it’s 12,150. Feel free to add in the 10K for a full day of swimming.
