I read somewhere that Ian Thorpe was making a comeback for these Olympics. I think it said something about going to Switzerland to train with a special coach in seclusion.
=> Could this be doable for someone 29 years old who's been away from the pool for some time?
=> He was a freestyle machine in his younger days --- could he challenge for a medal(s) in London?
After the Aussie Trials I remember Thorpe admitting he just didn't start his comeback early enough. At the time he said he intends to continue training and hopefully make the Worlds team next year. I hope he wasn't just blowing smoke. It would be great to see him back!
