  • Well if you come to Indy next spring I'll buy you a :chug: and perhaps we can find something else to argue about! I don't know if my budget will allow me to go to both Indy and Mission Viejo, but, I am definitely going "home" to California for Nationals and to see my family and friends in Long Beach! So, if you are going to California, I'll take you up on your :chug:! I just reviewed the meet schedule in the rule book and I have already picked out my events: 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke, 400 IM, and, if I make NQT in the 100 breaststroke, I'll add 200 fly to the mix. If you don't make it to California, I'll see you in Montreal! :canada:

  • I remember hearing that Mission Viejo would be set up so us 800/1500er could swim both events. Yes, that's what their flyers said this weekend in Omaha -- swim both events on different days. Let's hope they also add in a longer relay or three instead of the sprint relays only.
  • Yes, that's what their flyers said this weekend in Omaha -- swim both events on different days. Let's hope they also add in a longer relay or three instead of the sprint relays only. Hmmm, a 1500 free with 800 free split request, and then an 800 IM on a different day...
  • I remember hearing that Mission Viejo would be set up so us 800/1500er could swim both events. ...but not a 800/1500 and 200 backer...last time they put the 800 next to the 200 back on the first day which I would man up for in a local meet but not nationals...
  • A 200 bk as a swim down? I don't see the problem... Good point... BTW...thanks to all organizers/volunteers at USMS. Everything was excellent...except that I kept getting beat (thanks Patrick Brundage and Ross Davis)... :)
  • Elaine, I think Mission Viejo is proposing a unique 5 day meet program for next year, so don't count on the rule book order of events yet. It would be brought up for approval at convention in September. No worries; I plan on doing those same events anyway. Ever since I swam 8 individual events and two relays at an Auburn meet, in February, I proved to myself I can do it and still get a couple of personal best times. I'm signing up for the max. 10 events for the Dixie Zone Championships, including 400 IM, 200 fly, and 200 ***. I doubt I will get any PB's there, but I want to see how I do under those race conditions, anyway. Note to Bobinator: I missed your previous comment about me being a "super-star swimmer". :lmao:Ha! Do a swimmer look-up and you will see just how far down the rankings I really am. :cane:
  • Hmmm, a 1500 free with 800 free split request, and then an 800 IM on a different day... Now that's just silly. You're starting to sound like an Elaineiak. :D
