2012 Marriott Summer USMS LCM Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska

In 2012, the USA Swimming Olympic Trials will once again return to Omaha and this time the Marriott USMS Summer Nationals will follow the USA Swimming Olympic Trials. All the pageantry from the Olympic Trials will be in place for the Marriott USMS Summer Nationals. Event heats will be broadcast live in the CenturyLink Center on the JumboTron. We will produce and broadcast our daily USMS SwimCenter from Omaha. Get your picture taken on the Olympic Trials podium.

I would rather swim at the next Nationals! :D
Again, it isn't a matter of knowing a lot of information about each swimmer; it's a matter of saying less, not more. For all of the races, I would congratulate the winner on a "great swim" and make sure to praise them for any broken records. But, I would not point out a swimmer beating their 200 seed time by 40 seconds (or any seed time that is slaughtered by that much time), unless I knew the swimmer. To me, it is giving positive reinforcement where it may not have been due... If she really did do that much better than she thought she would do, "Great swim!" pretty much covers it anyway.
Good grief. The (very likely) unpaid announcer is there to entertain the crowd, right? As long as he/she isn't saying anything inappropriate/offensive, what's the problem? I'm sure he was just trying to make the race interesting.:bolt:
