A few days ago I was on deck guarding and noticed a pretty decent swimmer doing a drill that I had not seen before. Its safe to say this was most likely his brain child; regardless I would argue it to be somewhat useful.
It was head up scull, with flutter kick. Chin was at water level. The sculling technique was flawlass, and his kick was exactly what you would want to see for flutter; but, together? Would anyone view this as somewhat useless? Even if only used for cardio, and/or to shake things up a bit?
I think that might be the same drill go-swim does, they present a different drill almost weekly so whatever one thinks up - it's probably already been done. It's for sculling-feeling for the water. The kick is just to keep the drill horizontal, it can be done with a buoy and no kick.
