Just curious -
can anyone post the suit they have seen the pros and semi pros use? like the top 8 at ncaa's, potential top 8 at trials (phelps, lochte, etc), WR holders - people like that. I am just wondering if there is a certain preference towards a specific brand or suit. I already own my $175 suit - so this is just pure curiousity. :blah:

On PRO's like lochte, phelps, it depends which company they are signed with
Phelps is speedo, think lochte is too
it all depends on what your goals are.
There's lots of good suits. So it depends.
a friend of mine bought most of the recent ones from all the manufactorers and said he preferred Finis & Arena. Some of the UT swimmers liked the rocketscience suits at NCAA's
I've written about suits in Swim Faster Faster
If possible test several.
What's your budget?
What's your goal?

In cycling it's quite common for a team to be sponsored by a manufacturer, but for the stars to ride frames built by their favorite framebuilder which are then painted the team bike colors. I suppose it wouldn't be possible for suits, but would be a kind of interesting idea...

Phelps and Lochte and Coughlin are sponsored by Speedo so they will be wearing FS3s.Other elites will wear what there sponsors give them. Most unsponsored swimmers will probably wear Speedo because Phelps,Lochte and Coughlin do.
All the big suit companies will be represented: Arena (e.g., Soni, Evans, many Europeans), TYR (http://www.tyr.com/athletes/), Finis (Lezak), etc.
Choose the suit you like.
I prefer the TYR Tracer Light, but am trying out Finis's Velo jammer since they had a great deal on them in Greensboro.
Funny this question keeps coming up especially before of the 2012 Olympics.
Somehow, I'm getting the sneaky suspicion that the recent posts with questions about "suit technology" (and their manufactures) may be an "Infomercial" -IE- a disquised version of SPAM. :shakeshead:

i was waiting for people to rip on me for buying an expensive suit - but it was the one that fit and felt the best.
i was only asking to see if there was a dominate representation and it seems speedo has the advantage by way of sponsorship. i had seen a few blogs and posts in regards to suit technology, but no advertisements with individuals representing specific suits like Phelps with the FS3.
