Goals For The Month

I swim/train with more intensity if I feel that I am swimming for something. So I decided to make monthly goals that I am going to try and achieve. Anyone else that wants to post their monthly goals here or just goals in general feel welcomed. At the end of the month I will let you know if I achieved my goals or how close I came. I came up with 3 goals for this month. 1. Break 12 seconds in 25yd SDK from backstroke start 2. Break 54 seconds in 100yd IM 3.Break 10 seconds in 25yd Free All these goals I am going to try and break at practice. I can break all three when I am tapered but would like to try and do it when I am broken down and in a practice environment.

    how will you time validate wether you've met you goals ? breaking10 seconds from say 10.8 requires a substantial improvement as well as timing accuracy to at least 0.1 seconds . Lack of accuracy can easily give you invalid results My coach has a stopwatch? If you guys don't like the idea you don't have to do it lol. If it is going to depress you or make you feel slow I wouldn't do it. I got this idea from Lochte who sets goals everyday, whether it is kicking 8 dolphins off every wall or getting 2 seconds off a personal best. This isn't for everyone but some people need to be pushed harder than others. I am one that needs to be pushed to my limits so I can extend "My limits".
