Congratulations to the top 12. However, as Allen stated, it was disappointing to see Swimming World abandon their profiles of the accomplishments of the top Masters swimmers as they have in previous years. The one issue of the year that celebrates elite Master’s success is now just a description of how the judging takes place. Seeing what the top 12 did to earn their spots was always interesting. I especially would have like to have seen them mention my teammate Laura Val’s accomplishments. In what must be an unusually prolific year for record setting, Laura had 29 World Records that were on the books at the end of the year. If you counted all of the records broken during the year her total is 42. That must be some sort of record for records.
