She was a guest speaker for the Negaunee-Ishpeming, MI, 2 1/4 mile "race" for diabetes. The host tried to persuade her to swim it. She politely, but very firmly declined.
She's a So Cal girl. I'm sure the idea of diving into a lake in Michigan's UP--summer or otherwise--scared her to death!
