Hi all,
Is it my imagination or are the inside lanes easier to swim in? I mean, whenever I swim in an outside lane - the very outside next to a wall - I feel like the water is denser or something...like I'm having to use more strength to get through the water...less gliding ability and whatnot...
However, when I swim in an inside lane - even the second lane in from a wall - I feel like the water is less dense, like I can glide more between pulls, like I'm moving more smoothly through the water...
Anyone else feel this way?

It depends on the quality of the pool.In a really good pool with good wave dampening there is not much if any difference inside to outside. In an average to below pool there will be much more wave action in the outside lanes making it harder to swim there. That is why the fastest swimmers are seeded in the inside lanes as they have "earned" that advantage.
