Torpedo Sunk?

It looks like the end of the road for the likable Aussie swimmer as he fails to make the cut for London 2012: www.theaustralian.com.au/.../story-e6frgdg6-1226302920141
  • Definitely capable at 29. Crap happens to everyone, doesn't mean we'll never see performances again
  • Staying on top of the world stage is hard without taking time off! I would have liked to see him in 2012.

That's too bad. I guess that picture of him with the flab at the beach in retirement was a predictor.

Read the article. He's not retiring. Thorpe plans to continue training and competing.
  • Agreed, he went too fast for the 1st 100 & could not hold it.
  • Thorpe was incredible and still is very good. He just: 1) stayed retired to long 2) started his comeback a bit too late & 3) didn't correctly split his 200, his splits look like he swam to win instead of attempting to make finals & qualify 6th or better the 200 Fr was his best shot Here's how prelims, semis & finals went: Session 3 -
