Has anybody else heard about problems with the new Speedo Fastskin3 Women's suit? Apparently a Brazilian coach who is also a TV commentator (but based in Florida) is reporting on his blog that there's a defect in the women's suit bought before Feb 8th Just trying to get some factual information.

Trying to get ahold of Coach Pussieldi.
Thanks!

OK, so here's the scoop: Apparently there have been some ISOLATED instances of ripping or failure of the shoulder straps of the women's Fastskin3 suits (both open-back and closed-back). This has been an issue with the first batch of production suits, distributed to suppliers PRIOR to Feb 8th. Evidently somebody somewhere along the line missed a step in the sewing instruction manual or something; Speedo has been aggressive in reacting to this development (as you can well imagine). They claim they have corrected whatever it was in the production process so that there should be no further issues, and have been - by all accounts I am aware of - magnanimous in their handling of damaged suits, giving high priority to getting a new suit in hand to any swimmers who have experienced issues.
So, the take-away is, if you have gotten one of the early suits, be careful. If you have any problems, contact Speedo or your supplier and they should get it replaced for you asap. If you're thinking about getting one, you should be confident that there will be no problems with the workmanship from here on out.
Take care,
Brian

I know someone this happened to. I ordered an FS3 awhile ago, and just sent it back. I'm pondering whether to reorder this suit or another LZR Elite. I would prefer the closed back one but they seem nearly impossible to get into!
didn't hear about the problem, however, definitely think this suit is an overkill for majority of swimmers. You will more than likely have better results by doing something different in the pool than by buying an expensive and futuristic looking suit. Here are some tips how you can get the same effect that Fastskin3 gives you for free.
It's good that they are looking into it fast. Are they willing to replace older suits that were made before the date of found defect?
That is what I understand. If you have a problem, STOP wearing the suit immediately & get a hold of either the swim shop where you purchased the suit (best option) or contact Speedo directly.
Take care,
Brian
Nathan Adrian's FS3 ripped open on the starting blocks. :afraid::afraid::afraid:

Makes you wonder if these new suits really provide any kind of advantage, if a swimmer can experience a "wardrobe malfunction" off the block, and still swim a meet record. I'm sure Nathan was catching a bit of water where the suit ripped, which didn't seem to slow him down.
I will stick with the TYR suits for racing. Way too much to spend on a suit that might rip. We all can't pull off a suit rip like elite swimmers such as Adrian.
