How do you accurately target it, you have to shoot a precise straight line of the shortest distance? Do cell phones interfere or is that last year's news?
Since it's working in the visible spectrum (presumably) I don't see how cell phones or other RF signals could interfere.
And if you don't trust the laser the good old steel tape still works, too!
