I think this has been covered before but I'd appreciate comments from dedicated swimmers.
So - it's accepted that we lose bone mass as we age. Part of maintaining sufficient bone density is engaging in weight bearing exercise. - things like running, skiing, walking etc.
If you're just doing swimming (say just to stay fit) are you risking bone density improvement? Is simple walking in everyday activities sufficient to keep up your bone mass as you age?
Any thoughts? What do dedicated swimmers do?
