Kirk, I hope it comes to USMS meets as well ... but don't count on beating him. I heard his workout times when he dropped in with my daughter's team in Scottsdale last year. I suspect his 4:59.99 entry time will look like a sandbag time once he's finished (or if he comes to a meet and rests to race fast). Given his awesome athleticism, incredible aerobic conditioning and solid strokes, I think he'd put up a scary 1650, as well.
With his amazing aerobic engine & years of training, he has the potential to put up scary 5, 10 & even 25ks, but I'm not sure how hard, far or often he's training, heard he travels alot. Check his twitter feed.
He trains with the noon crew at rollingwood in Austin. Heard the workouts are tougher and faster when he's there. My buddy Rip Esselstyn trains there too. Plus several other former Longhorn greats like Aaron Piersol, Shaun Jordan, Kris Kemp, & Bill Stapleton. Practices at Rollingwood tend to be more laid back than Longhorn Masters. (usually less yardage, less time in the water, more drills, & easier sets with more rest, plus it's outdoors)

I gotta figure out a reason for a business trip to Austin ...
Very cool! I'm sure he'll be fast. I hope Lance joins USMS. Beating Lance Armstrong head-to-head or even in the Top Ten rankings would be serious motivation!
Kirk I agree maybe a head to head to head with you me and Lance at Big Shoulders this year would be cool!! We could bet that case of beer you still owe me? :chug:

Even though I couldn't beat him at Top 10 due to my gender, it is really cool. I also hope he joins USMS. He started off as a swimmer before he switched to biking.
