Natatorium in San Juan, Puerto Rico?

Hi all- This is my first-ever post here... I will be traveling for a work meeting in San Juan, PR in a couple weeks. While I am there, I would love to be able to swim at the San Juan Natatorium, and even better if there's a masters team to drop in for a workout with. I am having trouble figuring out public swim hours from the pool's webpage. I recall that LCM nationals was there a couple summers ago, so I am hoping someone is familiar with the pool and can give me some basic info. I am trying to "collect" visits to new pools & swim workouts in as many states and countries as I can! Thanks for your help with this! --Margaret
  • Thanks. Yes, I had found the website and was able to use google translate to get the basic idea. Does your friend remember anything about the hours when the pool is open or closed---the website doesn't seem to give them. Also, the website says something about needing a medical form filled out, which seems to require a doctor's signature. I'm hoping they don't really enforce that, but was curious if anyone knew? It's a taxi ride from where I'll be for work, so I'd rather not head over unless there's a good chance of actually getting to swim. Thanks again!

Try this site. www.natacionmasterpr.com/ You will need to translate again but this is the puerto rican masters swimming. You also might try contacting someone at the USMS headquarters to see if they can give you the name of a contact person in San Juan.

A friend of mine tried to get a hold of the masters team there while visiting as well. He never got a response, so he just showed-up one day and swam. The facilty is great.

Hi Margaret, I ran into the same problem in Rome. A medical exam there would have cost me a couple hundred bucks, but I took a short note (one line) from my doctor here and they accepted it after I provided a translation. Good luck! (It's fun collecting pools, isn't it!)
  • Sorry, I can't translate but while looking I found the records section & I could be a record holder in my age group there !!!!!!:applaud::banana:
  • Thanks for all the help. As it turns out, my work trip got cancelled, so no Natatorium de San Juan for me... :-( Ah well, I do love collecting pools when I travel, and am scouting out some other ones for upcoming trips. Thanks again!
