I have been passionately swimming since August--am 68 yr. old female-really want to get better, faster in freestyle--stroke technique coaching opportunities very limited in my area. Is the Total Immersion freestyle workshop good? I have books, Swim Smooth videos, and watch lots of You Tube. Thank you for any advice.
It's good to have a knowledgeable trainer watch you and get in water with you to demonstrate. If the TI workshop is the closest you can get, I would certainly do it. The other benefit is meeting other adult learners and seeing that everyone has different things to work on.
You know the website? www.totalimmersion.net
Also, Terry Laughlin occasionally posts in these forums, under the handle of "Kaizenswimmer" or similar.
So, if it fits your schedule and budget, go for it!

It all depends on who the coach(es) are at the workshop. There are some TI coaches that highly knowlegable about swimming from the TI thinking and the non-TI thinking.
There are other coaches that have no real swimming or swim coaching experience other than what they have learned from their TI coach training.
Where is the workshop that you are considering attending?
