  • 2011: Look Back What did you accomplish in 2011? Coaching: I became a much better technical coach in the past twelve months, I have a much better understanding of technique as it relates to a swimmers ability and am now able to recognize swimmers strengths and weaknesses as it relates to stroke execution. I have also greatly improved in the mental side of coaching but still have a long way to go before I would call myself accomplished. Swimming: Not a very impressive last 6 months for me as work, coaching, family issues, work issues, etc just kept getting in the way (or I kept allowing them to get in the way) 2012: Look Ahead Coaching: Cut back a tad on my coaching hours, I've been working 5.5 weeks in a 4 week month between both jobs so that is going to have to ease up. But I also need to work on workout planning, being more concise in my instructions, mental training and confidence building with my swimmers. Swimming: My goals for this year are simple - get in the pool three days a week. No competition goals, no grand strategies, just swim.
