Does anyone here know if they have swim camps for beginning-intermediate Masters swimmers? Was just thinking if they have 2-3 day sessions with coaches -- somewhere warm (hopefully). Might be a good way to take time off and make progress on a workout.
Also --- has anybody ever used this item?
Amazon.com: FINIS Swimsense Performance Monitor: Sports & Outdoors
Apparently it analyzes your stroke/counts laps etc. and is helpful if you don't have a coach. It's a bit pricey though.
USMS had a high performace swim camp last year - see www.usms.org/features.php and may do it agin in 2012. The local LMSCs and clubs also seem to periodically sponsor camps and sessions and you'll have to follow their web pages to know what's up in your area.
I've been using the swimovate watch since about 9/1. My pool has no pace clock. Currenly having some trouble getting it to upload data and to open the workout in the interface. I haven't had time yet to figure out what the problem is. The lap and stroke counter has worked well, not perfectly. It doesn't count kick and drill laps. I think the swimovate had slightly better user reviews than the finis. It is pricey too.
