Just wondering how does point scoring work? Like for first, second, third.. and so on, all the way to twelve. I am aware that it could differ per meet, but there is this one swim meet in specific that I am curious about. The results for points per team are as follows:
1 Pueblo South 334.000
2 Pueblo West 287.000
3 Pueblo Centennial 239.000
4 Pueblo East 134.000
5 Pueblo Central 94.000
6 Pueblo County 83.000
And there are 8 individual events, 3 relays, and there was diving as well.
At individual event there were 12 swimmers competing, except for:
the 200 IM - 11 competed
Diving - 8 competed
the 100 Butterfly - 10 competed
the 100 Breaststroke - 11 competed
And for the DQ's in relays -
200 medley relay - 1 DQ by County, 1 DQ by East
400 Freestyle Relay - 1 DQ by Central, 1 DQ by East
Anyway, again I'm just trying to figure out how much points each placing (1st -12th) in individual events, and for the relays (1st-6th)
In addition to the information above, I know that getting second and third by the same team scores more points that if the other team got first, and that relays are worth double of that of individual events.
In my math, I got that first place got like 20 points, but then second jumped down to 13, and that I think last (12th) gets like 1 point, but I'm pretty sure my math is wrong...
