Hello guys i have a question, i have this big meet comming up the week of December 9-11 and my team is tapering for it. My question is that while tapering should i stop going to the weight room or am i able to keep going?

My question is that while tapering should i stop going to the weight room or am i able to keep going?
Different folks have different opinions
I prefer to lift close to meets, backing off in the water gives me a chance to get stronger in the weight room, then I'll back off the week before &
stop 2 or 3 days before. I do this because I've done a lot of swim work outs after lifting and I've been able to swim fast in practice. Sometimes I'll quit leg weights sooner than arms. If anything is injured, I may skip the exercises that use injured or sore muscles.
