Hello guys i have a question, i have this big meet comming up the week of December 9-11 and my team is tapering for it. My question is that while tapering should i stop going to the weight room or am i able to keep going?

probably sound stupid for asking. But whats taper? :confused:
In brief, it is the short 'rest period' many swimmers(athletes in general) take before their most important/biggest competitions. Allows the body to 'rebuild' a bit so you can race at your finest. Taper only works after a swimmer has been consistently training. From my experience in swimming, if you train year-round there will between 2 to 4 taper periods per year
