2012 2011 USA Swimming Grand Prix Meets

What's with the 3:48 seed time (with an asterisk) for Carlos Almeida? What does the asterisk mean? I saw it next to a number of entries. The asterisk denotes a foreign swimmer.

I checked the USA Swimming database and it would appear that Dara has only swum the 100 free once since 2008 and that was last month. She swam the 100 free SCY and went 50.79. I suspect Dara knows exactly what she's doing and if she's not even attempting to make the Trials cut in the 100 it's because she just doesn't want to swim it.

This may be the best place to post this since you can scroll back through for results. Keep an eye out for Erika Braun, 40 to make OTs! She went 26.48 recently and the cut is 26.39. Also look for Lisa Blackburn in the 100 ***. I think she is about 1 second off. Of note, it was mildly interesting EB is in my age group and swims my favorite event. But now I am a total fan - I think (someone correct me if I am wrong) she is the HR Director for....drumroll please as I slobber.... GOLDEN CORRAL! Do you know how many times I intended to write a letter to head of HR about how wonderful their service people are? These people hustle! They are always on the move, clearing our plates and getting me my free coffee. Funny I would have been writing to her!!!

Dana Vollmer is entered in the 200 free after dropping it in 2011 to emphasize her 100 fly. The US women's 4x200 gets noticeably faster if she's back in top form for that event. Could be that Dara just can't get the training in to get her 100 free back to what she's happy with. She's been battling so many injuries the last few years.
