Generally fewer people swim LCM so it stands to reason that the times are a little softer. The location/size of spring vs summer nationals is a big factor, since nationals is probably the single biggest meet for producing TT times. This year Mesa was pretty big (despite the suit ban, imagine that) while Auburn was not. Lack of LCM pools is probably another factor. It is hard to find a good LCM meet around here, anyway. And some people shift their focus to OW swimming in the warmer months. That makes sense. Spoiled out here - six 50 meter pools within 15 minutes of my house.
