Oh man does that bring back great memories fro the Surf Patrol! Total anaerobic event, with a bit of scrum action at the buoys. Nothing better than being near-blown out and feeling the wave lift you, with the right technique (stroking with one arm, planing on the other extended hand) you could make up a lot of distance.
