Does anyone think they know what James magnussen strategy was to win the 100 free and come back 24.39?
  • James Magnussen's 100 Race Strategy Probably was: great start & break out, go out hard yet relaxed, breathe following some pattern great turn, streamline break out and bring that 2nd 50 home very fast with a turbo kick. BUT everybody has a similar 100 race strategy What's important is all the training and preparation he's done. Along with his body proportions & age height is 1.95 m / 6'5" & weight is 88kg / 190lbs. born April 11, 1991, recently turned 20, he's finally more mature. What's most important is his attitude and mental approach. To become great at anything you have to have intense desire, SMART goals, great plans, and massive actions. It helps to have frustration, near misses and set backs because they fuel desire action and accomplishment. It would be interesting to see his year over year time progressions for his 50, 100, & 200 fr. A great race strategy will help you perform a little better within your performance range. Great genetics, his training programs, and his mental approach enabled him to greatly improve. James Magnussen article Aussie Swimming Bio
