Has anyone else experienced cuts/scrapes on the bottom of the big toes or feet from flip turns? I figure it is the friction of toe against wall just before pushing off, and knowing myself I'm pretty sure there is bad technique somewhere in there causing this. If anyone has this experience and knows how to stop it, I'd appreciate any advice. Or is it just a matter of building up enough calluses? Thanks.
I made a flip turn boo boo in a high school meet once. Flipped a little too close to the wall, which the gutter had a sharp stone corner, and split my heel wide open. Bad part is, it was the first turn of a 500 :badday:
