hello guys , i just have a couple of questions again this time towards the 50m Free. 1) is the 50 freestyle more about sprinting and power, or about decreasing drag to go faster?. 2.) in the 50 is it better to pull with your elbow close to the surface, or straight arm with a slightly bent elbow? 3. When you swim the 50 should you rotate your body after each stroke recovery, or try to stay flat as possible? And with the shoulder-driven technique, must you keep your shoulders wide ? and if so how far apart?

High elbow recovery is traditionally better, although there are anomalies like Stefan Nystrand who swim very fast non-traditionally 3. Most are quite flat, as are the two in your namesake. Nystrand, however, rotates and undulates significantly, as did Michael Klim. The bottom line is whatever makes you faster!
