hello guys , i just have a couple of questions again this time towards the 50m Free.
1) is the 50 freestyle more about sprinting and power, or about decreasing drag to go faster?.
2.) in the 50 is it better to pull with your elbow close to the surface, or straight arm with a slightly bent elbow?
3. When you swim the 50 should you rotate your body after each stroke recovery, or try to stay flat as possible?
And with the shoulder-driven technique, must you keep your shoulders wide ? and if so how far apart?

1) Both. Reducing drag always take priority, but you should never neglect power training.
2) No one can tell which is one is best. You must choose whatever works best for you. Time yourself using different elbow positions and choose the fastest.
3) Depends on your style. You can incorporate some rotation (like ‪Alexander Popov Freestyle Stroke Technique‬ - YouTube), but it should come natural. If you exaggerate it will limit your stroke rate. Once again, time yourself to find out what works best for you.
