I haven't been swimming regularly since late March, but last week I hopped in the lake and went for a short swim (~1100m). As I was arriving back at the beach, look what I found. It was folded up in about four feet of water. From the looks of the bill it was underwater for awhile.
That got me thinking... I wonder what other people have found while swimming that they didn't expect. Baby Ruths in pools don't count, nor does swimming with the explicit purpose of finding stuff (e.g., scuba diving to collect fish for your marine aquarium), or finding stuff while you were on dry land.

A few years ago one of my teammates lost a diamond earring in the pool. A few days later I found a diamond earring there . . . but it wasn't hers! After a week had passed I found yet another earring, which was the one my teammate had lost, so there was a happy ending after all.
In a pool in northwest Florida I found a chastity ring--it was silver and had the words "True love waits" imprinted on the inside.
