I haven't been swimming regularly since late March, but last week I hopped in the lake and went for a short swim (~1100m). As I was arriving back at the beach, look what I found. It was folded up in about four feet of water. From the looks of the bill it was underwater for awhile.
That got me thinking... I wonder what other people have found while swimming that they didn't expect. Baby Ruths in pools don't count, nor does swimming with the explicit purpose of finding stuff (e.g., scuba diving to collect fish for your marine aquarium), or finding stuff while you were on dry land.

While swimming off a semi-private beach in Kauai, I saw something silver nestled in the rocks under water. I dove in to get it and it was a camera in waterproof casing. I brought it all the way home & popped the SD card into my photo printer and actually got some pictures from it. Just some people gathered around the beach is all I found, nothing scandalous :D They were kind of streaky & had a psychedelic look to them, probably from the water damage.
