What about at Rice? I have met people from Rice Masters Swimming several times at meets.
These guys are great and have a great pool. Very close to downtown as well. Only hitch is you must email the coach several days in advance to get a permission e-mail that gets you past security.
The COnroe ISD facilit is the best place to swim in Houston. Dad's Club is the most accessible and central 50M pool, Most of the parks pools are pretty dumpy.
depends where you are
houston's a big place
Woodlands Masters
has the best program
Thanks, Ande. I actually used to swim there. That facility is about thirty miles from Houston, and I actually live there now, but am taking a job in Houston (inner loop), and am looking for an awesome facility closer to work to swim in the AM so I can skip the awful commute.
Rice or UH might be options, but as I am not an alumni, and am planning on keeping my gym membership in The Woodlands until I move, I am loathe to pick up another $$$ membership payment. Was looking for a place that was 2-3 per swim. Times like this, I miss Austin!

like inside 610
which is still a huge space
there's plenty of good pools
my buddy David Guthrie lives in Houston near Rice, bet he knows em all
Houston Masters teams that come to mind are:
Houstonian
Dads Club
Rice
University of Houston
Rice seems to have more swimmers at meets than other teams from Houston.
Places to Swim lists 8 inside or close to 610
Hi... I am moving from Colorado to North Houston (Woodlands) and wondering where I can do some open water training? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Shelle
I'm interested in the same. I'm moving from San Francisco to Houston proper and as far as I can tell there is not much OW swimming done in the Houston area. This'll be a big adjustment for me as the Bay Area is lousy with opportunities for open water swimming...
